“ Keep
your heart with all vigilance, for from it flow the springs of life.” –
Proverbs 4:23
Literally, the scripture above is completely correct when it
comes to human health as life stops the moment the heart stops. It requires all
diligence and attention which unfortunately most people ignore.
The heart itself is an energy pump that starts working right
after conception has taken place. It is actually the main object that evidently
indicates life when a pregnant woman goes under a scan at early stages of
pregnancy.
Studies have shown that hypertension is more prevalent among
Africans than other races. Not only is it more prevalent but Africans descents develop
hypertension earlier in life than other races.
Integrity of the blood, integrity of blood vessels, the
conditions of the muscles and structures of the heart are among the areas to be
considered while addressing hypertension. Nutritional factor, genetics, race,
psychological and spiritual factors are also to be addressed.
Ignorantly, many young people already tagged high blood pressure
as a disease of the elderly. Most developed countries with poor access to
standard health care often avoid regular and comprehensive medical exams which
can help in early detection of the condition.
Constant medical check is important as we advocate every
home to have a personal sphygmomanometer. Unresolved headaches could be a sign
of blood pressure running wild. There are two readings with the upper one named
Systolic and the lower reading Diastolic. Again, the Systolic should never be
above 140 and the Diastolic should never be above 90.
When the factors earlier mentioned are addressed, high blood
pressure is normalized. With cases of blood integrity, mostly blood coagulation
is at the root which is where blood thinning comes to play. This can be achieved by consuming garlic, cayenne,
Omega-3 oil, cinnamon, etc.
Certain blood vessels are clogged sometimes with cholesterol
which had been mobilized to cover a damaged or broken pipe. This can be helped
thru chelation and stopping the factors responsible for clogging to avoid
re-clogging.
Abdominal obesity have been shown to be responsible for 51%
of high blood pressure in people of African descent especially among men. It
will be helpful for men to ensure their waistline when measured around the
navel does not exceed 36. Sedentary living and poor diet if avoided can help
resolve abdominal obesity.
Certain health conditions like renal impairment and diabetes
can lead to hypertension. It is important to resolve such conditions to normalize
high blood pressure. Hibiscus tea is a natural diuretic without side effects
for people treating high blood pressure.
Among several other factors to be considered is the exposure
to sunlight. This seems to be the unresolved reason for the prevalence of this
condition among people of color. It would take a longer exposure to sunlight (not
sun heat) for the production of the required amount of Vitamin D because of the
skin pigmentation.
Africans living in other regions where there are more
winters had aided the study and conclusion that HBP is higher in blacks than
white people for this obvious reason which would further affect metabolic
functions, mineral absorption, psychological functions, etc.
The scripture says in Isaiah 26:3 that God would keep in
perfect peace those whose hearts are stayed on him. Anxiety, agitations,
disappointments, bitterness, anger, un-forgiveness are best resolved by staying
focused on God. Many HBP issues are traceable to these factors as well.
Confession: Thank you Lord for your peace that exceeds all understanding.
My heart is stayed on you and is thereby guarded and guided by your peace.
