Health without
Wealth, Wealth without Health!
“Beloved,
I pray that in
every way
you
may prosper
and enjoy good
health, as
your soul also
prosper” – 3 John
1:2 (The Berean Translation).
Garlic and onions are popular bulbs of the Allium family.
They are renowned for their characteristic smell which makes many people stay
away from them. These foods are strong oxidants and have the ability to prevent
cancers and other diseases.
Unknown to many, the characteristic smell is what makes
these plants unique and their healing properties are embedded in them. Hence,
the smell and the healing features are inseparable.
The understanding of the scripture helps us see that both
health and wealth are inseparable benefits of redemption. The beloved Elder John said we should prosper
in “every way”! Not like Lazarus and neither like the rich man as told in the
parable of Jesus.
Health and wealth are meant to be enjoyed as citizens of the
kingdom. The Kingdom message is to bring healing and wealth to nations of the
world but we will not be able to give what we do not have or what we have not
experienced.
Remember Job in the days before the gospel. The devil
pleaded to afflict his wealth and then his health. The devil touched every area
of his life except his soul. The tactics of the devil is still the same today,
if he cannot get your health, he would try to get your wealth. Many have the
wealth but hardly get the health.
The devil wants you to have enough money to build the best
house, furnished with the best room money can afford with the best bed but
without the ability to sleep soundly. He wants you to be running from one place
to another with pacemakers, going for surgeries or dialyses which are not the
purpose of God for you.
Salvation is a complete package saving your spirit first and
translating into the salvation of all that concerns you. This is what some have
unknowingly turned to materialism but of what importance is wealth gotten at
the expense of your spirit and your health.
Jesus came that we may have life and we should have that
life in its fullness. Health and wealth depicts that fullness and it is the
right of the redeemed.
Confession: “Thank you Lord for my completeness in you. My
place is secured in you thru the finished work of Christ. I have both health
and wealth in Jesus name. Amen!”
